If we weren’t so busy at being good guys, we’d be donning the black hats. Contrary to conventional wisdom, crime does pay. Counterfeit and gray market goods account for billions of dollars in lost sales to legitimate intellectual property owners. And the ground zero for this activity is Southern China.

For the benefit of the planet, we formed an alliance with Panoramic Consulting, effectively doubling our investigative staff with the addition of over 30 Chinese National and ex-pat investigative operatives in Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Shanghai and Beijing.

In tight coordination with Panoramic, Marksmen offers in-use investigations in China, on-site anti-counterfeiting investigations, Chinese character searching for trademark and copyright infringement on the Internet and pro-active market and city surveys. Additionally, we perform integrity checks of legitimate manufacturers and licensees to uncover back channel sales to the gray market, and examine suspect goods at Hong Kong Customs.

Our anti-counterfeiting and gray market coverage in Asia doesn’t stop in China. We have other teams at the ready in India, Russia, Malaysia, Taiwan, Thailand, Japan, Korea and Indonesia. Marksmen covers most countries in Europe, the Middle East and Latin America. We’ve investigated counterfeit issues in a smattering of African nations, and we have your back in Australia and New Zealand.

We don’t truck with fear mongering or run raid mills. The goal of all of our anti-counterfeiting and gray market work is to help stop the activity or provide evidence to obtain punitive awards or entrée to assets.
