MANAGEMENT TEAM

Ken Taylor (Founder, President and Chairman)

has specialized in intellectual property investigations and associated services for over 15 years. Ken developed the business concept and vision for Marksmen and was the company's first employee. He is currently responsible for the management of all things Marksmen including new business development, branding, growth and strategic positioning. Ken has published articles on IP investigations, is a frequent speaker and is a member and has served on various committees of the Intellectual Property Constituency of ICANN, Computer Law Association, Intellectual Property Owners, International Trademark Association, Marques, International Anti-Counterfeiting Association, Triangle Intellectual Property Law Association and the California Association of Licensed Investigators (licensed both in California and North Carolina). Ken was an actor and playwright in another life and graduated with an English degree from Auburn University.

Keith Lim (Chief Operations Officer)

is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the company and brings over 20 years of finance and management experience to Marksmen. For two years prior to joining Marksmen, Keith was an independent consultant engaged in finance and accounting projects for companies managing extreme transition: Sun Microsystems, Cisco Systems, Buena Vista Internet Group, Indymac Bank, Imperial Bank, Sizzler International and the California Institute of Technology. He's done time as a VP for several major banks and has run a real estate company before being released for good behavior. Keith holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics/Business from UCLA and obtained his MBA from the UCLA John Anderson Graduate School of Management --and he still has trouble balancing his checkbook.

John Shoenfelt (Investigations Manager)

has been with Marksmen for 7 years. He started as a trademark investigator and has served in several positions in the company, most notably working in the Acquisitions department back in the day with Ken Taylor and Dana Harkrider buying domain names during the land rush days of the Internet. He has attended many INTA functions over the years on Marksmen’s behalf, learning and connecting across the industry. John previously toiled in the motion picture industry, including stints in physical production as well as assisting a Hollywood producer. Marksmen pulled him from the water after swimming with the sharks! John holds degrees from the University North Carolina-Asheville and The North Carolina School of the Arts.

Dave Wright (Investigations Manager)

began his career as a private investigator in 1982, but interrupted that path several times to pursue his interests in the restaurant and print production industries. He finally settled in as an intellectual property investigator with Marksmen in 1999 and became an investigations manager in 2001. Dave spent five years as a theatre major at the North Carolina School of the Arts and University of Georgia before moving to New York City in 1977. Dave is also an accomplished singer/songwriter and has performed in numerous venues in New York City and in his home state of Georgia where he now resides. In addition to his passion for music and theatre, Dave is a devoted fan of the New York Yankees, the Atlanta Braves and the Georgia Bulldogs.

Dane Hill (Acquisitions Manager)

heads the Acquisitions Department with over four years of experience in acquiring domain names, trademarks, patents, and 800-numbers. He has ten years experience altogether within the domain name industry, having spent over five years at Network Solutions / Verisign prior to joining the Marksmen team. Always fascinated with the world of entertainment, Dane holds a Bachelor of Arts in Drama from Thomas Jefferson's University of Virginia. Ironically, his big move to Hollywood in 2002 had nothing to do with the entertainment industry as he instead settled into IP. Dane is also a rabid baseball fan, and is out of the office every year on opening day.

Miguel Cima (Acquisitions Manager)

has been with Marksmen since 2004, starting as an analyst and now co-managing the department. In that time, he has come to believe he can do domain name acquisitions in his sleep and considers himself an expert in navigating trademark negotiations. Nowadays, he focuses more on building up the department and diversifying services. Born in Argentina and raised in New York, Miguel combines his Latin charms (and fluent Spanish) with a Yankee attitude. Having spent years in the film & music business, Miguel has been lucky enough to work for such figures as Neil Young, Stevie Nicks and Spike Lee. Holding a BFA in Film from New York University, he spends his off time writing & reading comic books, producing short films, and enjoying his hillside home with his girlfriend, their dog and three cats.

Phoebe Taylor (Client Relations Manager)

brings 12 years of client relationship management experience to Marksmen and heads the front line team fielding customer requests and work intake. Before joining Marksmen, Phoebe spent 9 years in the consumer products manufacturing industry as Co-Owner and Office Manager for Regal King, which peaked at $40 million in sales in 2004 under her stewardship. Before that, Phoebe brightened the skies as a Delta Airlines Flight Attendant and spent several years as a community volunteer and sometime activist. She received her BA from Auburn University.
